Radiesse Treatment: Benefits, Duration, and Risks

From €450*

Radiesse is particularly useful if you want not only to build volume but also to specifically strengthen your skin structure and define contours. Unlike classic fillers, the treatment not only provides immediate shaping but also stimulates the body’s own collagen production – an effect that continues to develop in the weeks following the treatment.

What is Radiesse — and what is it used for?

Pain Scale

Radiesse is an injectable medical product consisting of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. Unlike classic hyaluronic acid fillers, the primary focus here is not soft volumization, but rather structure, support, and tissue stimulation. This makes Radiesse particularly interesting where contours need to be defined and age-related substance loss needs to be compensated.

Typical areas of application include the jawline, chin, marionette lines, pre-jowl areas, and the back of the hands. In diluted form, Radiesse can also be used to improve skin quality, for example, when fine wrinkles, loss of elasticity, or an overall less firm complexion are bothersome. For lips, very superficial wrinkles, or highly mobile regions, Radiesse is usually not the first choice.

Radiesse

Who is a Radiesse treatment suitable for?

The treatment is particularly suitable for patients who desire more definition and firmness without the face looking “done.” Often, it’s not about a significant increase in volume, but rather clearer contours and a fresher, more stable overall appearance. This is precisely where Radiesse excels.

Whether the method suits you, however, always depends on the findings. For very thin skin, certain anatomical conditions, active inflammation, pregnancy, or unrealistic expectations, a treatment should be critically reviewed or postponed. Also, if moisture deficiency, dynamic wrinkles, or a volume deficit in the midface are the primary concerns, other procedures such as hyaluronic acid, Botox, skin boosters, or device-based concepts are often more suitable.

If you want a natural result, product selection is only one part of the decision. At least as important is the medical assessment of which structure should be treated, at what depth the injection should be made, and how much material is actually appropriate.

Treatment Procedure and Areas of Application

Procedure, Effects, and Longevity

If you notice your face losing firmness, contours softening, or wrinkles appearing deeper, this combined approach can be crucial. At the same time, Radiesse is not suitable for every region and every goal – you can find out in detail what really matters and when the treatment makes sense.

Radiesse-Treatment-Face-Aesthetiqua

Every Radiesse treatment begins with a medical consultation. During this, it is analyzed whether your concern can actually be effectively treated with a biostimulator or if another method would lead to the goal more precisely. Especially for the face: not every wrinkle needs filler, and not every contour benefits from additional projection.

The injection itself usually takes only a few minutes. Depending on the region, a needle or cannula is used. Immediately after the treatment, an initial effect is often visible because the material supports and shapes. The second, often aesthetically particularly relevant effect develops over the following weeks due to stimulated collagen new formation.

Durability is often around 12 to 18 months, but varies depending on metabolism, the treatment area, the amount of product used, and the initial findings. Very active facial expressions, high tissue stress, or significant volume loss can mean that touch-ups make sense sooner. Conversely, more product does not automatically mean a better result. Especially with high-quality aesthetic treatment, dosing is a matter of anatomy and precision.

Possible Risks and Side Effects

Side Effects

As with any injection treatment, slight swelling, tenderness, redness, or small hematomas are initially normal. These reactions usually subside within a few days. Temporary asymmetries due to swelling are also possible and should not immediately be considered a mistreatment.

In contrast, severe pain, pronounced pallor, livid discoloration, increasing swelling, or other unusual complaints are noticeable. Such signs must be medically clarified promptly. Palpable nodules or irregularities can also occur, especially if the indication, injection depth, or aftercare were not optimal.

Important to know: Unlike hyaluronic acid, Radiesse cannot be dissolved with hyalase. This is precisely why the experience of the treating physician is particularly relevant. Anatomical safety, a clear indication, and a natural treatment concept are not an option here, but a prerequisite.

Is it woth it?

What does a Radiesse treatment cost — and is it worth it?

Costs depend on the region, product quantity, technique, and treatment goal. We have provided the approximate prices here for you. However, a reliable price assessment is only meaningful after examination. The decisive factor is not the cheapest entry price, but whether the treatment is medically appropriately planned and the result harmonizes with the face.

A Radiesse treatment is particularly worthwhile when support, contour, and tissue firmness are paramount. If, on the other hand, you primarily want to build up lips, correct dark circles, or hydrate very fine lines, there are usually more suitable options. Good aesthetic medicine is often recognized by the fact that not every concern is treated with the same product.

Those who value naturalness usually benefit from an individualized concept rather than isolated individual measures. In medically managed practices like Aesthetiqua, therefore, not only the wrinkle is considered, but the interplay of skin quality, facial expressions, volume, and contour.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Radiesse

Not fundamentally – it just serves a different purpose. Hyaluronic acid is particularly suitable when soft volume, defined lips, tear troughs, or finer wrinkles need to be treated.

Radiesse is stronger when it comes to contour, support, and collagen stimulation. Which treatment is better therefore depends not on the trend, but on your anatomy and your goal.

You usually see an initial effect immediately after the injection. However, the final result develops over several weeks because the collagen-stimulating effect takes time. Precisely this gradual progression is often perceived as particularly natural, as the change appears harmoniously rather than abruptly.

No, not like hyaluronic acid. Radiesse cannot simply be dissolved with an enzyme. Therefore, the treatment should only be performed after careful indication and by experienced medical practitioners. If you are rather unsure or prefer a very finely controllable, reversible procedure, hyaluronic acid may be the more suitable choice in some cases.

Anyone interested in Radiesse should not only ask what is possible, but also what truly makes sense for their own face – that’s where good aesthetic medicine begins.
